Alongside two-time and reigning Kent doubles champion Law in the knockout section were Gillingham’s Johann Kim and Perry Oliver, Ashford players Q Yat Chan, Andrew Holdstock, Luke Holdstock and Jordan Brocker, Sittingbourne’s Rikki Clarke, Herne Bay’s Keane Li and Benenden’s Diccon Gray.

From further afield were Moldova’s Gicu Litovcenco and Romania’s Alex Anghel, and they were joined by Eugene Gamboa, Dolma Lama, Evgeni Genchev and Dan Howard.

Following two rounds of tense action, the semi-finals saw Law edge Anghel 3-1 while Litovcenco beat Oliver 3-0 with Law winning the final 3-1.

The Super Series was launched to give the county’s players an opportunity to participate in tournaments separate from local-league competitions, with national ranking points up for grabs. Four more events are planned for this year, with the next competition set to take place on May 10 again at the Howard.
