Captain Doug Loft is confident of turning Gillingham’s poor league form around.
A 1-0 loss at Fleetwood on Saturday extended the run without a win for the Gills to eight games.
“We have to pick ourselves up and go again because there were a lot of positives,” said the skipper after the weekend defeat.
“We need to get off this losing run and I think we have enough in the squad and the team to do it but we have to put it into practice on the pitch.”
Defeat left the Gills joint-bottom of League 1, ahead of Yeovil and Crewe on goal difference.
He said: “I have been around football long enough to know it’s a long season and it’s about where you are at the end of the season and not at the beginning.
“I know we have enough in our squad to go out and do that on the pitch. At the moment it is not working. We are disappointed but as the season progresses we have enough in there to do well.
“Everyone is disappointed and everyone is angry that we are not putting the wins together. There is nobody more disappointed at what is going on than the players.
“We worked our socks off for 90 minutes (on Saturday) and we went off disappointed again.
“Our luck has to change but, for the lads and the manager, everyone is devastated that we didn’t get a result.”
