Lordswood are aiming to make it third time lucky in the Kent League, Premier Division, after finishing runners-up for the past two seasons.
The loss of opening bowler Adeel Hussain to Gore Court in the off-season has
been tempered by the arrival of some exciting new additions.
South African Greg Smith, who plays First Class cricket for Essex, is set to feature when they open their campaign on Saturday at Blackheath.
Hong Kong’s 19-year-old Daljeet Singh is also set to play a key role for Lords, who will again have Kent’s Fabian Cowdrey at their disposal.
But they can no longer call upon Kevin Masters after he quit at the end of last season and moved to Upchurch.
It’s a squad captain Linden Lockhart feels can compete for the title.
He said: “If everyone available to us is out playing, then we have a squad that is good enough to win the league.
“It will just come down to those weekends when people aren’t available. It’s up to others to come in and put in a performance.
“We won eight of our last nine games last season when we had our strongest team out but we had lost four or five early on when people weren’t available.”
