Trampoline gymnast Louise Brownsey has spoken of her delight at being named in the Great Britain team for the 2022 World Championships in Bulgaria.
Brownsey, who trains at Jumpers Rebound Centre in Gillingham, will travel to Sofia for the competition which takes place from November 16-19.
It will be a second World Championships in the senior ranks for the 22-year-old, having made her debut last year.
She’s in good form after winning silver at last month’s British Championships and is looking forward to being back on the world stage.
“Getting selected for major events like this really make all the hard work we do each day worth it,” said Brownsey.
“Winning silver at the British Championships was awesome and now I’ve got a few more weeks to iron out any last details in preparation for the worlds.”
Brownsey, an age-group world champion four years ago, recognises the role played by Jumpers in her development.
She said: “My coach is my rock. He is so supportive and encouraging and pushes me every day to become a better version of myself.
“My club is also amazing and has allowed me to make some massive adaptations to my training to allow me to study and work alongside my training. I really couldn’t do it without them.”
On her hopes for the competition, Brownsey added: “My main goal is to put down two solid routines to put our team in the team final and also get myself a spot in the semi-final for individual.
“Once I’m there I just want to enjoy the experience and see how far I can get.”
