Wins won’t stop Gillingham boss Steve Lovell from looking for improvements.
The Gills picked up another three points on Saturday as the impressive turnaround under Lovell continued with a 2-1 win over Rochdale.
Victory lifted Gillingham up to 14th in the table, five points clear of the drop zone, extending their unbeaten league run to six games.
Lovell was looking for ways at getting even better, however, after grinding out a win on home soil.
He said: “We are working on what needs to be worked on, looking at things that have gone wrong that we can put right and get better for the next game. If we continue to do that then we will be fine.
“It is amazing how your approach to things change. Five weeks ago we would have come off (the field on Saturday) thinking that’s fantastic, without even looking at why, but it could be better and it is about standards.”
The Gills sat back on a 2-1 lead, after coming from behind, something Lovell wasn’t happy with.
“We have discussed it,” he said. “I have had views from players, to see what they think. They see a different picture to what we do. We work together and we will make it work and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
“Being too deep is something we have recognised. We recognise what the problem is, work on it in training and make sure that people understand why it is happening so that when we come back here against Fleetwood, when we are in the same situation, it doesn’t happen again.
“Football is all about getting over problems. You have mistakes on the Saturday and you tend to look at them, analyse them and try to get it right for the next game. We have recognised it, which is a positive, and we have to work on it.
“From the moment we took over, after every game there has been something that we have had to work on to get better. Every little bit is now getting better and better.”
Meanwhile, the Gills boss will be working on bringing in new faces, saying: “We are trying, like most clubs are in this window, and we will see.”
