Attacking midfielder Regan Charles-Cook could be back for Gillingham’s midweek League 1 game at Plymouth.
The 24-year-old has missed the last four league games for the Gills with an ankle injury but is back training.
Manager Steve Lovell has been patient, not wanting to rush him back, but tomorrow’s (Tuesday) trip west could be the right time for Charles-Cook to make a return.
“Maybe Regan could be back,” said Lovell. “I am hoping he will be available for Tuesday. We don’t try and rush anyone back.”
Billy Bingham returned for the Gills on Saturday, coming off the bench, but Lovell admitted he was still rutsy. His last appearance was at Barnsley on September 1.
“He could have started,” added Lovell. “Looking at him, and he would be the first to admit, his sharpness wasn’t there.
“He is a couple of games off starting at the moment but we will wait and see what happens on Monday with the injuries, the knocks and things and see what team we can actually put out.”
Lovell handed 20-year-old Bradley Stevenson his first Football League start against Doncaster.
“He did very well,” said Lovell, who substituted the midfielder before the hour. “He was obviously nervous early on and got a bit tired at the end of the first half. He had already been booked as well and we had to be mindful of that.
“It is nice to see any youngster going out and making their league debut, he did well, he will learn from it and it will put him in good stead for future games.”
Plymouth sit bottom of League 1 with seven points from 14 games, their only win was against AFC Wimbledon on October 6.
