Bradley Dack has been hit in the pocket following his costly outburst on Saturday.
The Gills midfielder was red carded at MK Dons after dissent to the referee led to his second caution of the game.
Dack was incensed by the decision to award a free-kick against him and from that, MK Dons scored the winner.
It was his second red card of the season and he has been fined two weeks’ wages.
Gills head coach Ady Pennock said: “It’s happened and we have to move on. It will give someone else the opportunity to come in and do well, they have to.
“It is just a shame it happened because since I have been here, Dacky has been excellent. We just didn’t need it.”
Dack will be suspended for Saturday’s game against Millwall and the Good Friday game at home to Bristol Rovers.
The Gills will again be without Scott Wagstaff for the weekend. He was due a scan on his injury in the Achilles area this week.
Pennock said there was “a little light at the end of the tunnel” with regards to Chris Herd’s knee injury.
He is again missing on Saturday but could be back in time for the Easter period.
The Gills head coach also confirmed that Bradley Garmston, now back from a trip to Qatar where he went looking for a solution to his hamstring problems, will miss the rest of the season.
