Medway Area Sunday League round-up (01/09/24)

Champions Quested lost their Premier Division opener 2-1 to Cliffe Woods Colts.

Preston Kedwell scored for Quested but Ashley Poppy and Bobby Noye did the damage for Cliffe Woods Colts.

Yemi Yusuph’s goal wasn’t enough for Rainham Kenilworth 2 as they went down 5-1 to Medway Invicta.

Danny Perrier and Jack Beggs were on target for Wigmore in their 2-0 victory over Black Eagles Athletic

In Division 1, Borstal Wanderers lost 7-0 to Medway Sportage, who scored through Nick Hadris (3), Aaron Lorentson, Wassim Hammaci, Paul Williams and Harry Davenport.

Division 2 Caspian Tigers had Jamie Passfield and Loz Finney to thank for their 2-0 win against Cliffe Woods Colts A.

Isaac Graham’s goal was not enough for The Stumble as they went down 4-1 to The Walnut Tree United in Division 3. Tyler Bell bagged a hat-trick with Charlie Coppard also on target.

An amazing game in Division 4 saw Hayden Youth Association and Bredhurst Juniors drew 5-5. Charlie Muttett (2), Frank Mason, Ollie Noctor and George Nash netted for the home side with Thomas Hudsonj (2), Danny Proctor, Stephen McCarthy and Callum Leonard replying.

Luca Di Massa (2), Danny Olowu and Martin Philip were the Medway United scorers in their 4-2 victory over Cross Park, whose goals came from Lloyd Pennant and Mike Dungworth.

Rochester Eagles Reserves shaded New Road Athletic 4-3 with goals from Reece Bissenden (2), Daniel Bushell and Ellis Rowden.

Wigmore Wanderers got off to a great start, winning 6-0 against Walderslade WMC with Harry Smith leading the way with a hat-trick. James Lundie, George Hennessey and an own goal completed the scoring.

In Division 5, Jack Winchester scored for Pegasus 81 Reserves in their 2-1 defeat to Medway United West.

Springhead Park Reserves and Woodcoombe shared the points in a 1-1 draw, Harjinder Shokar and Alfie Tonner scoring the goals.

AEI Sports reached the second round of the Junior League Cup with a 6-0 victory over Rainham 84 thanks to Jordan Herbert-Smith, Daryl Herbert-Smith, Mo Kamara (2), Aman Gill and Callum Graham.

Pegasus lost 3-1 to ASK Medway in the decider to reach the final of the Junior Challenge Shield thanks to Josh Waters (2) and Josh Richardson.
