Medway Area Sunday League round-up (01/12/24)

Springhead Park booked their place in the last four of the Senior League Cup on Sunday.

Park won 3-0 against Medway Sportage in their quarter-final clash thanks to goals from Ainsley Linton, Alfie Sherwood and a Scott Higgins penalty.

Rainham Kenilworth 2 won 4-3 against Eagles with a brace from Callum Smith plus goals by Nathan Young and Louie Murrell.

In the first round of the Senior Charity Cup, Borstal Wanderers shaded Swanscombe Tigers 5-4 thanks to Corin Domanski, Tony Ellis, Andy Butt, Albert Thompson and Tiago Oliveira.

A Luis Dos Santos double plus Richard Gregory were not enough for Wigmore as they went down 4-3 to FC Catalans, whose goals came from Samuel Heard, Jordan Gower, Ryan Fuller and Alex Woodhouse.

Hempstead United won 9-8 on penalties against Omega 92 in their Junior Charity Cup first round game following a goalless draw in 90 minutes.

In the first round of the Junior Charity Trophy, William Young (4), Adam Matthews, Bayley Casey and Jacob John-Walker were all on target in Hempstead Valley’s 7-3 win over Palmerston Athletic.

Jordan McPhee scored the Anchorians Rovers goal in their 2-1 loss to Pegasus 81 Reserves, whose goals came from Jack Claydon and Lucas Phelps.

Charlie Hetterley claimed the lone strike in Walderslade WMC Reserves’ 6-1 loss to Deagal.

Goals from Harry Houselander and Frankie Mason saw Hayden Youth Association home against Co op Cobras in the second round of the Andy Groves Memorial Cup.

George Hennessey, Harvey Edkins, Ronnie Porter and an own goal ensured Wigmore Wanderers are through to the next round with a 4-1 victory over Medway United West, Michael Bradbury with their consolation.

In league action, Premier Division Chatham Town SR and Cuxton 91 shared six goals and the points in a 3-3 draw. Lee Duvan (2) and Patterson Riugiame scored for Chatham while Jamie Reeves, Sam Hollman and Harrison Teale netted for the visitors.

A James Alderman hat-trick, Brad Schaffer (2), Preston Kedwell (2) and Fjord Rogers all found the net in Quested’s 8-2 win over Black Eagles Athletic, for whom Thomas Mitchell scored twice.

In Division 2, Cliffe Woods Colts A won 6-1 against Pentagon with goals from Malachi Benjamin (2), Michael Odriscal (2), Connor Young and Jack Burnham. Max Evershed-Slater scored Pentagon’s consolation.

Moses Alausa (2), Mason Odds, Riley Goatham and Callum Goatham were all on target in AEI Sports’ 5-2 victory at Eccles Sunday.

In Division 3, Rainham 84 shared the points in a 4-4 draw with Rochester Eagles thanks to goals from Tyler Boreham (2), Charlie Simmonds and Kyle Williams.

Hayden Webb, Daryl Vivash and Callum Thompson were on target in Real 60’s 3-1 win against The Stumble.

In Division 4, Danny Solari (2), Steve Batt and Joseph Girt were on target in New Road Athletic’s 4-0 win at Medway United.

Corben Ager, Kris Hrabe and Robert Quelch netted as Division 5 The Gentlemen won 3-2 against Woodcoombe, who replied through Josh Shaw and Jordan Forster.
