Medway Rugby Club head coach Taff Gwilliam is hoping the return of five key players will help his side secure the Kent 1 title on Saturday.
Medway go into the their final league game knowing that a win or a draw at home to Cranbrook (3pm) will be enough, but if they lose then they will be pipped for the title on points difference by Old Gravesendians - providing the latter win their final match at Gillingham Anchorians.
By coincidence, Medway defeated Cranbrook 36-10 in the Kent Vase last Saturday, but that hasn’t dissuaded Gwilliam from making several changes for this weekend.
He said: “Our side has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks, but five of my first-choice players are now fit again and I have decided to pitch them all in this week.”
The five are captain and second row Liam Weobley, outside centre Simon Green, tight-head prop Kevin Kimble, scrum-half Dafydd Ruffel and flanker Colin Chapman.
