Gillingham midfielder Dom Jefferies is back available this weekend - a welcome boost ahead of their home match against Barrow.
Jefferies, 21, hasn’t played since the end of January because of torn thigh muscle.
Head coach Stephen Clemence hasn’t said whether he would be fit to start the match but is delighted to have him back.
He said: “Dom has had another good week in training and I am expecting him to be involved at the weekend which I am really happy about because he has been a big, big miss for me.
“I haven’t had too many midfielders to choose from, especially someone who can get around the pitch at speed like he can. He adds another dimension to the team.
“He has been out a long time, he has been training for a couple of weeks and we’ll see where he’s at.
“If you can get pace and athleticism and a bit of conviction in your team, they are the ones who are usually successful and Dom certainly gives you all three of those. We haven’t had enough of that this season.
“I am pleased to have him back around it.”
Jefferies had been a regular starter for Clemence when he first got the job, making 24 appearances this season.
Big striker Josh Andrews, meanwhile, is getting fitter by the week. He’s been limited to appearances off the bench since recovering from injury.
Clemence said: “Josh is in a better place, I have a decision to make at the weekend, he has three or four sub appearances, he is getting there.
“He has had quite a signifcant injury to come back from and I am pleased with his progress.”
Andrews has replaced Ashley Nadesan in the squad for the last four games with Josh Walker also getting minutes off the bench in recent weeks.
There’s no sign of Watford loan man Jorge Hurtado making a return for the last three games.
Hurtado watched the home game with Crewe at Priestfield after having surgery on his knee. There was an outside chance he’d make another apperances this season but Clemence said: “I have not heard anything from the medical department or Watford, but you never know, if we won three games and were in a different situation then he will probably be on the phone wanting to come back, because there would be some good games to play in, but I haven’t heard anything.”
