Invicta Dynamos determined to ‘right some wrongs’ of home defeat to Romford Buccaneers when sides meet in NIHL Division 1 South this weekend

Invicta Dynamos will be looking to right some wrongs this weekend.

The Mos were without a game last weekend but return to action with an NIHL Division 1 South double header, starting away to Romford Buccaneers on Saturday before hosting Oxford City Stars a day later.

Invicta were beaten 4-3 at home against the Buccaneers in early October, that result following an 11-4 win for the Mos on the road against Romford.

The home defeat hurt and head coach Karl Lennon said: “We’ve worked on some stuff and identified a number of areas that we needed to strengthen in as a team.

“This is our third encounter with Romford and the results would suggest that they've improved as the season's passed so far. We'll be under no illusions that we've got a tough game on our hands that night.

“The guys know 100 per cent the expectation that's on them and they also want to right some wrongs when it comes to that fixture. That will be the incentive behind that game.”

Sunday’s action at Planet Ice, Gillingham is against an Oxford side who have struggled for wins. It’s the first time the sides have met this season.

Lennon said: “They've had some mixed results. They've had some good results against some of the teams in and around them but then they've had some heavy losses against teams at the top of the table.

“I don't know what to expect from them yet. A lot of their team was freshly recruited this summer. We'll have to wait and see what they bring to the table.”

The break in action will hopefully be a boost for some of those carrying knocks, including D-man Callum Burnett, who has been missing for the last few games with a hip injury.

“We’ll hopefully have some bodies back,” Lennon added.
