Franck Moussa has been handed another chance to impress at the Gills.
The 28-year-old Belgian-born midfielder spent the second half of last season at Priestfield.
Former Coventry and Southend player Moussa joined in January after being without a club for the start of the 2017/18 season but struggled to break into the Gillingham first-team.
He was limited to just two substitute appearances, playing against Wigan and Doncaster.
Despite failing to make an impact during last season boss Steve Lovell is willing to let him have another chance during this summer’s pre-season.
Moussa could be involved at either Sheppey or Folkestone on Saturday when the Gills start their pre-season games.
Boss Steve Lovell said: “I didn’t see a lot of him when he was here before in games so I said he could come back and have a pre-season with us.
“Franck is a good player. I have given him an opportunity and we will see how it goes.”
