Boss Justin Edinburgh is in no hurry to raid the loan market.

The Gillingham manager has been impressed with what he has seen at Priestfield over the last few weeks.

An unbeaten run in all competition was extended to six games on Tuesday night as Edinburgh’s first match in charge brought a 2-1 win at Peterborough.

Edinburgh hasn’t ruled out bringing new additions in, following the opening of the loan window this week but the current form means he is not under pressure to shake things up.

He said: “It is time for me to assess the group and certainly give them a fair crack at it because they deserve that.

“If and when it is needed, then we will make the decisions but right now, with the group as they are and one or two more coming back into it, we are looking good.”

Aaron Morris is closing in on a return from a hamstring injury while Joe Martin is now back available to start, after recovering from a calf injury.

“You can get caught having too many players around,” said the new boss. “You can lose that unity and togetherness”
