Gillingham won’t be offering Franck Moussa another contract.
The midfielder has been back at the club during pre-season in an effort to clinch a deal.
He spent the second half of last season with the Gills.
The 29-year-old former Coventry and Walsall player was limited to just two substitute appearances for the Gills last season.
Boss Steve Lovell agreed to let him play and train over the pre-season to get another look at him.
Moussa was involved in six of Gills’ pre-season games, scoring four goals, including both in the 2-0 win over Faversham.
The Gills aren’t short of midfielders, however, and Lovell confirmed at the supporters’ Q&A event on Thursday night that the player won’t be getting a deal.
Lovell has plenty of midfield options, adding Josh Rees, Regan Charles-Cook and Dean Parrett to the squad this summer.
Another player who spent time with the Gills at the end of last season is Rhys Murphy, now playing for National League side Chelmsford.
Former striker Greg Cundle, meanwhile, looks set to sign for Dulwich Hamlet.
