Gillingham are heading to Sunderland on Tuesday aiming to do what nobody else has so far this season.
The Black Cats, sitting fourth in the League 1 table, haven’t lost a league game at the Stadium of Light.
But they haven’t found wins easy to come by, either, drawing half of their 16 league games on home soil, including a 2-2 draw against Accrington on Friday night.
Gills boss Steve Lovell knows they face a huge challenge but isn’t worried.
He said: “We are going to a big stadium, with big support, but that shouldn’t faze us. We have been to Portsmouth and won there, we will look forward to it.”
Lovell’s men will have renewed confidence after beating in-form Scunthorpe at the weekend.
“It will be a different sort of mental approach for the boys, knowing we have got this win behind us and we can push on,” he added.
Sunderland are aiming for an immediate return to the Championship.
“They are a good club,” Lovell said. “Their manager (Jack Ross) is a great fella, they have a great bunch of players.
"It is all about the application that we put in, the work rate. We showed we have got the talent.”
