Jamie O'Hara's short stay at Gillingham is over.
The 30-year-old midfielder has had his contract ended by mutual consent after making just three appearances from the bench.
O'Hara recently picked up a foot injury which he is struggling to shake off and a statement released by Gillingham on Friday said: "Gillingham Football Club and Jamie O'Hara have today mutually agreed to terminate the contract between both parties.
"Jamie has worked tirelessly to overcome a foot injury, one that is now taking more time than first expected. Over the coming weeks, he will look to overcome this injury and look to get back to the high standards that he has set himself throughout his career.
"Gillingham Football Club would like to thank Jamie for his efforts this season and we wish him well for the future."
Dartford-born O’Hara had spells for Tottenham, Portsmouth and Wolves in the top tier of English football, before more recently spending time in the Championship with Blackpool and Fulham.
The English midfielder also represented his country seven times at under-21 level.
On becoming Gillingham's 10th summer signing in August O’Hara had said: "I moved back home to Dartford over the summer and I spoke to Justin Edinburgh a lot, and the move felt right.
"I know the club really well, my family have season tickets here, and I think Gillingham are a club going places.
"To get back into the Championship is what we're looking to do. I want to win trophies, and with the squad this club have got, I feel we can mount a challenge.
"I can get my head down, focus on my football and be happy."
