Chatham Town have had a dream week in Ryman League, Division 1 North with three wins and three clean sheets.
A 3-0 home win against Ware on Tuesday completed the treble for manager Kevin Watson’s side after victories at high-flying Heybridge (2-0) and Redbridge (1-0).
No wonder the boss was feeling happy, he said: “What is so pleasing is that we produced three different performances to suit who we were playing against –we proved we can win playing in different ways.
“When sides stick to the game plan and instructions, as a manager you have got to be happy because it doesn’t always come off.”
But it wasn’t only the wins that pleased Watson. Keeping the opposition scoreless was a great effort.
He said: “They (clean sheets) are a massive positive and gives us something to build on.”
Chats, who are 12th, host Maldon & Tiptree on Saturday – the side three places above them – and Watson knows what that brings.
He said: “We always have a battle against them and they will start favourites and rightly so but we don’t fear anyone."
