Chatham Town play Cheshunt at home on Saturday before a Tuesday night visit from Hastings United

Chatham Town had an unwanted Saturday off last week but face a packed schedule this month - starting with back-to-back home matches.

Manager Kevin Hake hopes to have several injured players back soon to help with the tough run of games, including an expected return for their captain Jack Evans.

Chats were due to play away to Dover last weekend but that match was called off because of a waterlogged pitch at Crabble.

That game at Dover will now be played during a busy March, rescheduled for Tuesday, March 18.

Manager Kevin Hake, whose side drew 1-1 with high-flying Horsham last time out, said: “It was disappointing to not have a game last week with the Dover game being called off as we wanted to continue to build off the good performance away to Horsham.

“The boys have had a good week on the training pitch and the week off has given us a chance to reintroduce Chambo (Lewes Chambers) and Rowan (Liburd) to the group after short term injuries.”

Evans last played in a 1-0 defeat at Potters Bar Town on January 19 and is “only a week or so away” from returning.

Hake said: “It will be nice to have a few lads to choose from with back-to-back games in the next few weeks.

Chatham’s fixtures in March

“It’s nice to be able to have some strength in depth with the players we’ve got returning from injury.

“They have all put a shift in this week so we are ready for the push as the final part of the season approaches.”

Chatham are at home to Cheshunt this Saturday and welcome Hastings United to the Bauvill Stadium on Tuesday night.

A weekend trip to Whitehawk on March 8 comes in between two more home games when they face Hendon in the Velocity Cup semi-final and Bognor Regis Town in the league.

Away games at Dover, Hashtag United and Folkestone Invicta complete a hectic month for the Isthmian Premier Division side.
