Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has told his players to focus on their League 2 promotion campaign following their success in the FA Cup on Saturday.

A second-half header from Andy Barcham sent the Gills through to the second round with a 1-0 win against Bury at Gigg Lane.

With league games against Rotherham and Bury coming up over the next two weeks, Stimson is keen for his side to maintain their momentum.

“Now we’ve got to concentrate on the league because that’s the most important thing,” he said.

“As good as we’ve been in the last two games, we’ve got to be exactly the same, if not better, in the next two.

“We’ve got six points to try and get and we won’t get them unless we play like we did on Saturday, because the teams we’re playing are top sides.

“We’ll be coming back to Bury and they’ll want to put one over us because we’ve knocked them out of the FA Cup. They are also around us in the league so the two games are very important.”
