Gillingham are to host a trio of Championship teams this pre-season.
Fans will be able to see Steve Evans’ new-look Gills team up against QPR, Millwall and newly promoted Peterborough United at Priestfield.
Supporters were denied the chance to watch their side live last season because of the Covid pandemic and haven’t been able to watch a game at Priestfield since the visit of AFC Wimbledon on February 29, 2020.
The Gills warmed up for the 2020/21 campaign by playing the likes of Watford and Reading and will be put to the test once again.
Fans can expect to see several new faces as well as last summer’s newcomers Alex MacDonald, Robbie McKenzie, Kyle Dempsey and Vadaine Oliver - none of whom have played infront of a Priestfield crowd since joining the Gills.
Gillingham will also take a first team squad to play Welling United on Saturday, July 10 (1pm) and Dartford on Tuesday, July 13 (7pm), with players expected to get 45 minutes in those matches before facing the bigger teams.
Gillingham will host QPR on Friday, July 16 with a 7pm kick off.
The following week, on Tuesday, July 20, Peterborough United are the visitors to Priestfield (6pm). The Gills will play two 75 minute games against the new Championship side.
There is a trip to Colchester United scheduled for Saturday, July 24, another chance for players to get 75 minutes in with two matches planned.
Millwall are the visitors on Tuesday, July 27, with a 7pm kick off with another game to be arranged on the weekend of that week.
There is an under-18 game at Margate on Wednesday, July 14 and a chance for youngsters and fringe players to see some action at Chatham Town on Saturday, July 3 (1pm) and Ebbsfleet United on Saturday, July 17 (2pm).
Gills say all games are subject to change and ticketing/attendance details are to be confirmed at a later date.
