Tuesday’s transfer deadline looks set to pass peacefully by at Priestfield.
Manager Justin Edinburgh isn’t in the market for additions and chairman Paul Scally has said his best young players are going nowhere.
The only exit on Tuesday looks set to be that of midfielder Josh Pritchard.
“I have got no reason to add to it,” said the manager.
“I am absolutely delighted with the group. I don’t think it’s a necessity to bring anyone in.
“We are not going to be losing anyone, so it is going to be a pretty calm and easy day for us.
“We will train and look forward to some good work as a group building for Saturday. I know that there won’t be any action, only that Josh Pritchard maybe leaving the club.”
Mr Scally isn’t interested in selling stars such as Bradley Dack, as the club are hoping to break into the Championship themselves, either this season or next.
The deadline for permanent deals is at 6pm on Tuesday. The loan window reopens shortly after should the Gills wish to make any additions at a later date.
Pritchard, who is contracted until the end of the season, is set to leave but Edinburgh admits he’s had few takers for the former Manchester United youngster.
Edinburgh, who had talks with the player’s agent on Tuesday morning, said: “Unfortunately for him there is not a great deal of interest but we are trying to get something concluded today (Tuesday) so he can get himself going again.”
The Gills could look to terminate the contract, if there is no interest, leaving the player to move clubs once the window has shut, as he will then be a free agent.
