Gillingham Women will head to AFC Wimbledon again this Sunday after their weekend Women's FA Cup was called off.
It proved a frustrating Sunday just gone as the team had travelled to Plough Lane before the referee made a decision to call the game around an hour before kick off.
Wimbledon tweeted an apology, saying: “We are disappointed that the game was called off and apologise to anyone who made the journey here.
“Our staff came in early to prepare the pitch, and deemed it playable, which the opposition agreed with.
“In the end, we have to respect the referees decision.”
Gills - who have captain Vicky Ashton-Jones acting as interim manager - said that their opponents had inspected the pitch themselves at 9am and “did everything they could to play the game.”
Kick off this Sunday is at 12pm.
The draw for the fourth round was made on Monday night. The winner of Sunday’s match between the Gills and Wimbledon will play either Charlton Women or MK Dons Women at home.
