Forward Richard Harris rejoins Invicta Dynamos for the 2024/25 season and hopes to put a frustrating past season behind him

Invicta Dynamos’ returning forward Richard Harris predicts a huge season ahead for the team.

Harris - a former rugby league player with the London Broncos - is determined to put a frustrating year behind him after returning to the Mos for another season.

A move away from the area and work commitments limited his appearances for the Mos last season to 12 games but the 28-year-old is back after a change of circumstances.

His return was announced on Wednesday, ahead of the club’s pre-season meeting with Romford Raiders this weekend.

Harris, speaking to the club, said: “Following a frustrating year hockey-wise for myself last season, I’m determined to bring back the form that I’d shown in previous years.

“Work life and moving away from Kent last year meant that hockey had to take a back seat, whilst I had a lot of other commitments.

“Fortunately, things have settled nicely and I’m in a position where I can be much more available for the team.

“After speaking with Karl (Lennon, head coach) a number of times over the past few months, I’m excited to get back into the room with the boys and with the team that we’ve got. It’s going to be a huge season.”

During the 2022/23 season, where Harris was able to ice more regularly, he was the club’s third highest-placed points score, with 28 goals and 12 assists from his 39 games.

It’s that kind of form he hopes to bring to the Mos again this season and head coach Karl Lennon is delighted to have him back onboard.

Lennon said: “We all know what Rich is capable of when he can be fully available to the team.

“We could see that as a player he found it tough to dip in and out. Hockey is really not an easy sport to do that. You have to have some regularity in your ice time.

“I know what he can bring to the table, both in the room and on the ice, and I’m very happy to have him back with us.”
