Rory Donnelly is back in football after signing for Irish Premiership side Cliftonville.
The 25-year-old has signed a three year deal with his new club.
He left the Gills after being suspended for non footballing reasons a week before the end of last season.
Shortly after his Gills exit he was in court. He had been stopped while driving and was arrested when officers discovered he only had a provisional licence.
Magistrates handed the Northern Irish footballer three penalty points and a £700 fine, and ordered him to pay a £70 victim surcharge and £85 court costs, totalling £855.
Donnelly started his career at Cliftonville, before moving to Swansea, who were then under the management of Brendan Rodgers. He moves back to a club which is close to his home in Northern Ireland and will link up with his younger brother Jay, who also plays for the Reds.
He moved to the Gills in 2015, with then manager Justin Edinburgh expecting the striker to shine, saying: “I think he will take the league by storm.”
Donnelly left the Gills after scoring 12 league goals in 66 appearances.
