Gillingham paid just over £17,000 out in agent fees over a one year period – the lowest in League 1.
The figures, released by the Football Association on Tuesday, are for the period from February 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018.
During that period the Gills completed deals for four players which involved payments to agents.
Permanent deals for Alex Lacey, Conor Wilkinson, Gabriel Zakuani and Billy Bingham amounted to payments for agent fees totalling £17,030.
That figure is up from £10,750 the year before and £2,500 for the 12 month period prior to that.
Blackburn Rovers were League 1’s highest spenders on fees, shelling out £764,024 and among their payments was to Gavin Dawes of Unique Sport Management, representing Bradley Dack during his £750,000 move from the Gills.
Bingham’s agent is Lara Southworth, working for Onside Sports Management, who in the previous year was registered as Jay Emmanuel-Thomas’ agent.
Wigan Athletic have also spent a large amount of fees, totalling £557,333. Total spends in the division was just over £3.5m.
All of those amounts are dwarfed by Premier League side Liverpool, who spent £26.8m on fees. Chelsea and Manchester City also paid agents over £20m.
The FA are required to released details of agent fees under FIFA’s regulations on working with intermediaries.
