Justin Edinburgh has insisted Gillingham’s star performers are going nowhere.
The Gills manager is busy building a team to improve on this season’s mid-table position.
And he is confident the likes of John Egan and Bradley Dack will still be at Priestfield when they open their 2015/16 League 1 season on August 8.
Both have been attracting interest but Edinburgh won’t be letting anyone go for financial gain.
“No, we won’t be losing those names, or anyone else contracted that I want to keep,” said the Gills boss, when asked whether they could leave in the summer.
“Credit to the players that are here already. They have taken onboard what we expect, the standards, the way we want to play, the tempo and the understanding of the way we want to work.
"I have had the opportunity to build real good relationships with those players and look forward to working with them again next season.”
Edinburgh knows his side have set themselves high standards after finishing 12th in League 1.
He said: “Expectation is something you make yourself. From the good start we have had, there will be expectations but it has to be realistic.
“You always have to try and over-achieve and if you do that, you are going to be on a good path to success."
