Gillingham have added another player to their ranks ahead of the new season.
Former Charlton player Euan Williams has featured in most of the pre-season matches and scored against Watford at Priestfield.
Boss Mark Bonner said on Saturday that there could be room for more in the attacking department and 21-year-old Williams gives them additional options.
Williams signed his first professional contract at Charlton in 2020, having been under the watchful eye of the Addicks' former academy coach Anthony Hayes, who is now assistant boss at Gillingham
He was released by the League 1 club this summer after his contract came to an end. Williams had been at Charlton since the age of seven.
His only first-team appearance for the Addicks came in the EFL Trophy two years ago, ironically against the Gills. He came on as a late substitute in a 3-0 win for the South London side.
Attacking midfielder Williams has represented both Northern Ireland and England at youth level. He’s developed under Gills assistant Hayes since the age of 13.
Williams said: "I have enjoyed settling in with the lads, we have had quite a few games over the past few weeks which has been really good.”
Describing himself as a footballer, he added: "I am very high energy, I like to play forward and run forward, I make runs in behind. I am nice, neat and tidy on the ball and I create chances.
“Hopefully I can pop up with a few goals aswell."
