Changing room upgrade at Priestfield thanks to financial contribution from the Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club and Club Class Travel

Gillingham supporters have been thanked for their generosity in helping the club pay for home improvements.

There was plenty of work done over the summer to upgrade facilities for the players at Priestfield Stadium and the Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club, along with Club Class Travel - the official travel operator for the Gills - joined together to help pay for much-needed improvements to the home dressing room.

Members of the Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club (GFCSC) were recently invited to see the changing rooms before a home game.

The GFCSC believe that the growing bond between supporters and Gillingham Football Club is just one of the strengths that is taking the club forward.

Gillingham’s managing director Joe Comper was keen to acknowledge the gesture.

He said: “I’d like to thank the supporters’ club, along with Peter Lloyd, Club Class Travel and our fans who regularly travel to away fixtures by coach for their support in coming together over the last year, subsequently helping to raise funds which have been used to help make important refurbishments to our home dressing room.

“Our relationship with the supporters’ club has grown significantly over the last 18 months and we are thankful to the committee members who brought the idea to us at one of our regular meetings at the stadium.

“We look forward to working with the GFCSC on a number of exciting projects in the future.”

The Supporters’ Club wished to thank Peter Lloyd, from Club Class Travel, for his help with making the donation possible.

The Gillingham FC Supporters’ Club was launched in July 2023 following discussions with owners Brad and Shannon Galinson, and a members vote, agreeing to change their name from the Gills Independent Supporters' Club and with it, working closer with the club for the benefit of all supporters.

The committee meet every six weeks and meet club representatives every quarter to discuss ways of moving the Gillingham FC Supporters Club forward, making membership value for money and raising funds for the football club.
