Peter Taylor is delighted to see Coventry back where they belong but hopes his Gillingham team can take centre stage.
Last month Coventry ended a long-running dispute over rent with the owners of their home ground at the Ricoh Arena.
For over a season they had been playing at Northampton’s Sixfields Stadium – 35 miles from Coventry.
The visit of Gillingham on Friday will be their first game back at the Ricoh. Sky Sports are broadcasting the match live and a sell-out crowd is expected.
Gills boss Taylor said: “The players are looking forward to it. It’s a beautiful stadium and it will probably be the first time some of their (Coventry) players have played there.
“It is going to be a fabulous atmosphere and I am delighted that Coventry are back in their stadium. Their supporters deserve to see their team there.
“Of course, we don’t want to see them start off with a win there, we want to see them start with a poor performance.”
Taylor’s team selection will once again be dependent on the progress of some of his injured players. Captain Doug Loft is set to miss out again, with an Achilles injury.
