This Saturday will be the third time in four weeks I’ve played against Fleetwood.
It’s a home game and I’m looking forward to my first match here at Priestfield for Gillingham.
During my time at Bury we lost to them in the league, then again in the Checkatrade Trophy, but I know what they’re like and know we can beat them.
They have a long journey to come down here and hopefully we can make it tough for them.
It was the second time I had played Scunthorpe in recent weeks as well, after making my debut for Gillingham last Saturday.
I was there on New Year’s Day for Bury and it was good for me because I had seen first-hand that they were beatable.
Our first goal came from putting them under pressure. The two centre-forwards closed down as well, leaving their player with few options, it was an all-round team press which led to the goal.
Scunthorpe got an equaliser early in the second half and it could’ve been quite easy for heads to drop and to then try and settle for a point, but I think that goal woke us up a bit.
It was enjoyable to be part of a winning team – there is no better feeling.
I was fortunate to have been playing games at Bury before moving here last week, so it meant I could go straight into the team last Saturday and play the 90 minutes.
I’m fit at the moment and in a routine. I just want to keep it up.
Coming here suited me because I can get forward, try and create things and hopefully use my energy for the benefit of the team.
I like to think I have the energy to put people under pressure. Sometimes it comes off and thankfully the other day we got some goals from it.
