We have to put Wednesday night’s game against Tottenham aside. Saturday's match against Coventry is our biggest game of the season now on the back of a few results that we are not happy with.
People will be looking at Coventry at home and thinking Gillingham will go and win that, so we will probably be big favourites. That puts us under a little bit of pressure.
We will go out and give it our all and hopefully we can get a result.
It was a real tough night in the EFL Cup and we knew it would be.
We gave ourselves a chance but ultimately Spurs’ quality was too much for us in the end. We gave it a go but we let ourselves down a bit as well. We didn’t play as well as we can and maybe that’s because they didn’t let us.
It was a super occasion and at the start you take it all in but as soon as you go 1-0 down, it starts to hurt.
The boys want to win and at half-time, although we were being outplayed and it could have been more, we thought we could play better in the second half and have a real good go at it – but we didn’t start too well.
It was always going to be a long second half after conceding two early goals but the boys stuck at it.
We went 5-0 down and we did well to keep it at that. There is a little bit of credit that the boys have to take that they stuck to the task but overall we’re disappointed.
That is the step up you have to look to. That wasn’t even Tottenham’s first team. Those boys are looking to push into the main team and it shows what quality they have.
It’s a great club and it is something we can aspire to as players.
