Gillingham fans only have a few hours left to vote for their player of the year.
The Gills’ 2019/20 campaign was ended with nine games to play during Steve Evans’ first season in charge.
Their final game should have been played on Sunday, May 3, at home to Bristol Rovers, shortly followed by the traditional player of the year awards ceremony.
Covid-19 means that’s not been possible and the club are instead planning to host an online virtual event.
To vote, just email the club at media@priestfield.com with your player selection and ‘player of the year’ as the subject. Fans can only vote once and players must have featured in at least 20 games.
The smart money will be on either Max Ehmer - who may get fewer votes since moving to Bristol Rovers - or Connor Ogilvie for the award although goalkeeper Jack Bonham impressed in his first season while youngster Jack Tucker was a revelation.
Loan players Alfie Jones and Tom O'Connor were consistent while Alex Jakubiak, from Watford, finished as top scorer and Olly Lee impressed too. Barry Fuller picked up the award last year and played another 35 games of the last season.
Fans can also vote for the young player of the year, which was won by Brandon Hanlan last year. Email the same address with ‘young player of the year’ in the subject heading.
Those who are eligible for the young player award this year are Regan Charles-Cook, Hanlan, Jakubiak, Jones, O’Connor, Ogilvie and Tucker.
Fans have until 5pm today (Tuesday) to make their vote.
Details of the virtual award ceremony are to be announced at a later date.
