Faversham Town have signed former Gillingham defender Ryan Huckle.
The 19-year-old ended was released by the Gills at the end of the season.
Huckle didn’t manage a first team appearance during his time at Priestfield but was a regular in the reserves.
Following his Gillingham exit he’s been chased by several clubs but is back at Faversham Town on a permanent deal, having spent time on loan at Salters Lane during the past season on loan.
Faversham Joint manager Phil Miles said: “We know that he was highly sought after, but Ryan feels that Faversham Town is the place to kick-start his career again, and we’re really pleased that he has decided to stay.
“He knows the club and what we’re trying to achieve. He’s a quality signing and it sends a message about the standard of player that we are bringing in for the coming season.”
Huckle ended six years at Gillingham when he was released. Also leaving at the end of the season was young goalkeeper Louie Catherall who also played at Faversham on loan.
