We mustn’t switch off now, says Gills forward Rory Donnelly.
Gillingham have picked up points against promotion-chasing pair Sheffield United and Bradford City in recent weeks.
They are now preparing for a run of games against League 1’s lesser likes. But that won’t change their approach insists Donnelly, who was starting his first league game since September at Bradford on Saturday.
“As a team we shouldn’t switch off just because we are playing teams in and around us,” said Donnelly.
“We will have to perform as if we are playing the top teams.”

Four of Gillingham’s next five fixtures are at home, giving them a good chance of getting a much-needed victory. The Gills are without a win in their last seven games.
“Hopefully we can get a few wins at Priestfield, a few more points and push up the table,” said the 24-year-old.
Donnelly has featured in all of the games under new head coach Ady Pennock, starting as a left-winger at Bradford and at times dropping into defence.
He said: “It can be frustrating (when not selected) but the manager has come in and said he will give me a chance. He has done that and I am thankful for it.
“The boys like the new regime and all of them know where they need to be. The gaffer played me and hopefully I can play again.
“It doesn’t matter where I am playing, as long as I am playing. At times I was at left-back but I enjoyed it. It was a great point.
“The next couple of games are going to be important. Hopefully we can now get maximum points with the next run of games.”
