Justin Edinburgh knows he needs wins after a run of just one victory in 11 has left Gillingham sitting just a point clear of the relegation places in League 1.
The Gills boss remains confident he can turn the form around but knows that needs to happen soon.
After cancelling out Fleetwood’s opener on Saturday, Gills lost late on and Edinburgh said: “Once we got the goal back, it looked like we were the only team going to win the game but I can’t keep saying it. We have to start delivering.
“The only people who can put it right is us and that’s what I said to the players. We can’t feel sorry for ourselves.
“We need to dig in. The application and dedication from the players is there but we need to start turning these performances into results – not just draws, wins.”
Despite the lack of positive results, Edinburgh believes his men are still in confident mood.
He said: “Off the back of last week we had two home games where we thought perhaps we deserved six points but we took two.
“Performances do give players confidence and that showed in the performance again (on Saturday).
“We can’t keep being unlucky, we need to change that around and be lucky, to get results and victories.
“The mood is good and that showed in the performance. That is there and that is what we have to keep focusing on.”
