Striker Rory Donnelly hit a stoppage-time winner for the Gills last time they were on the road.
But it wasn’t such a great experience as roles were reversed at Walsall on Saturday,
Donnelly said: “Over the past few weeks we have been doing that to teams and other players have felt like that.
“It was our turn to be on the receiving end and it wasn’t nice but we’ll bounce back.
“It was a good game of football and after taking a two-goal lead I thought we would see it through but they got a couple in quick succession.
“At half-time we knew we had a chance whatever the score was. We said we would go and win the second half but they got the winner which was a disappointing way to end.”
It was a high-tempo game and one that was enjoyable for both sets of fans. Donnelly enjoyed it too.
“The manager said afterwards what a brilliant game of football it was,” said the striker.
“It was end to end football, it was really good for the spectators and for us footballers it was enjoyable to play in. We were just disappointed at the end.
“I wish we had got the result we wanted.
“The fans were brilliant and it was disappointing we couldn’t send them home with three points.
“We are not far off the top still so we just have to bounce back and get up there again.”
