A midfielder who started out in the Medway Messenger Youth League has dedicated his Premier League debut to his grandad.
Maidstone-born Harvey White, a former Cuxton 91 youngster, came on for Croatia international Ivan Perisic in the 86th minute of Tottenham’s 4-0 win on Wednesday at Crystal Palace.
The 21-year-old posted an emotional message on social media.
“Dreams do come true,” he wrote on Instagram.
“Absolutely buzzing to have made my Premier League debut. Great result to make the day even better!
"That was for you Grandad.”
He also shared a picture of a signed shirt along with the caption: "Special day."
England skipper Harry Kane netted two of Spurs’ four second-half goals. South Korea's Son Heung-min and defender Matt Doherty also were on target.
Tracey Crouch, MP for Chatham and Aylesford, said: "Great to see local lad Harvey White make his PL debut for @SpursOfficial."
In January last year, White made his full Tottenham debut, playing 90 minutes of an FA Cup 5-0 success at Marine in the Third Round.
The England under-18 international then spent the second half of last term on loan at League 1 Portsmouth before he returned to the London club, doing enough to impress boss Antonio Conte.
He attended The Holmesdale School and is said to have been a keen cricketer as well while at school.
