Conor Wilkinson has joined League 2 newboys Leyton Orient.
The former Gills striker joins one of his old Priestfield team-mates Josh Wright at Brisbane Road.
Wilkinson left Gillingham for Dagenham in January following a successful loan spell with the club.
He flourished under former boss Peter Taylor, who as director of football with the Gills at the time was instrumental in brining him to the club.
But when Ady Pennock left as manager and Taylor moved on, Wilkinson found life tough at Priestfield.
He played nine games under Steve Lovell in the first half of last season, without scoring, and it was decided by the manager that his future was elsewhere.
He was quickly amongst the goals at Dagenham, who were revitalised under Taylor, and he ended the season with 12 goals for the club.
That form has earned him a place back in the Football League, with the National League champions Leyton Orient.
Prior to the death of Orient boss Justin Edinburgh, he had agreed to sign former Gills captain Josh Wright, after a tough time for the player at Bradford.
Wright was skipper under Edinburgh and said: “I'm proud of to be his last signing that he made."
