Josh Wright has signed a new deal that will keep him at Gillingham for the rest of the season.
Midfielder Wright, 25, has proved his worth since joining Gills on a short-term contract in August, starting seven matches in a row.
Boss Justin Edinburgh told the club website: "Josh has been a fantastic addition to our squad and I'm delighted he has chosen to stay.
"He has provided lots of experience to our midfield area and I have no doubt he will continue to be a key member of our squad moving forwards."
Wright is in his second spell at Priestfield, helping Gills to promotion via the League 2 play-offs while on loan from Charlton in 2009.
He's set to line up for the unbeaten League 1 leaders at Colchester on Saturday.
