Captain Josh Wright is out of Gillingham’s clash with his former club Charlton.
Wright is suspended for Saturday's game at Priestfield, along with Deji Oshilaja, after the pair picked up their fifth bookings of the season against Walsall.
Manager Justin Edinburgh said: “We miss the skipper for a game that I know he’d have been desperate to play in but unfortunately it’s not going to be.”
Another Addicks old-boy, Scott Wagstaff, also looks likely to miss out after suffering a groin injury in Gills’ 1-1 draw with the Saddlers.
Edinburgh added: “He’s got a strain to his abductor muscle so we’ll have to assess that but it’s very doubtful he’ll be available for the weekend.”
Gills’ rivalry with Charlton started off the pitch with the Addicks’ drive to pick up new supporters from Kent, bussing in fans from across the county.
On the pitch, it’s the sides’ first meeting since a 2-2 draw at The Valley in March 2010, the season Gills were last relegated from League 1.
Edinburgh said: “I don’t really know (about the rivalry). Obviously they’ve been in a different league to where we were since I’ve been here. I’ve been involved in the Millwall games, I expect this to have a little bit of spice about it.
“It’s a good one for the crowd."
