The Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends will be dishing out meals at the KM Big Charity Quiz in exchange for a share of the charity pot.
It will be the second year in a row the charity has provided ploughman’s meals for quiz-goers at the event which will be staged at the University of Kent’s Sports Centre on Friday, April 24.
The voluntary organisation supports the work of the Kent and Canterbury Hospital by providing extra equipment and comforts through its fundraising efforts.
Viv Pritchard, vice chairman of the League of Friends, said: "We raise funds to help hospital departments improve services to patients, families and visitors - last year we donated over £300,000. We also provide volunteer helpers to improve patient experience in the hospital; we have over 200 unpaid volunteers."
She added: "The Big Quiz provides an opportunity for our volunteers to use their expertise to provide good value food for the teams and at the same time raise the profile of the League and raise money for the hospital."
Also receiving a share of the proceeds will be homelessness charity Catching Lives as well as children's road safety services.
A table for eight people costs £65 inclusive of a ploughman’s supper, drink on arrival, entry into a prize draw to win a PO Ferries voucher, and the chance to win £100 in cash.
Event organiser Dominic Comins, of the KM Charity Team, said: “With brainteasers, banter and big prizes to be won, the quiz is a great team builder and can’t be beaten for a fun night out with friends and family.”
He added: “The more teams we have, the more money we’ll raise for charity. So don’t be shy, book your table today and start swotting up on your general knowledge!”
The KM Big Quiz is supported by Shepherd Neame and Barclays. For more information or to book a table, visit www.kmbigquiz.co.uk and use the code CABQEB15 to reduce the price by £10.
