A record number of teams made a splash for their favourite charities at the KM Assault Course Challenge on Saturday.
Forty-three teams of six braved the rain and mud trumping last year’s figure of 35. A total of £14,000 was raised for the 21 good causes with the team from Pfizer/Mylan - Half PFast - raising the most. The group raised £753 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer and children's road safety in Kent.
The best fancy dress outfits were donned by the team from the Romney Resource Centre who all dressed in St Trinian's outfits.
The highest individual fundraiser was Vinca Peterson from the Future Youth Project, Thanet. The oldest participant was Joanna Snowball, 61, who supported the Milly Moo Foundation, with the Future Youth Project's Eleanor Duffy, 13, the youngest.
Fastest to the finish line was The Reps team from LHS Direct Alarms of Maidstone in a record five minutes and 12 seconds with Boxing Clever of Dover hot on their heels for second place while Dover Gymnastic Club came in third.
Event organiser Dominic Comins of the KM Charity Team said: “Congratulations to all the teams who did tremendously well for their causes. There was a fantastic atmosphere with everyone cheering each other on as they tackled the challenge.”
Event sponsors were Fowlmead Country Park, London Fancy Box Company of Dover and Fairweathers Solicitors of Whitstable.
