Eurostar has announced its continued support of the KM Walk to School scheme for 2015 with an exciting green travel competition for kids.
The competition is open to all schools involved in the scheme, which is run by the KM’s charity department, and one lucky pupil that is top for green travel will win the chance to be an Ashford International team member for a day.
The youngster plus a parent or guardian will get an exclusive behind the scenes sneak peek at a major international train station in action.
The prize includes family travel on Eurostar from Ebbsfleet or Ashford International for up to four people to Paris, Brussels or Lille.
To be in with the chance of winning, visit www.kmwalktoschool.co.uk and sign up to the monthly e-newsletter School Link (for schools) or KM Link (for families). The link to the competition entry form is only available via these e-newsletters.
Simon Dolby of the KM Charity Team said: “We’re delighted that Eurostar are so committed to our award winning green travel scheme for schools.
“All pupils taking part in Walk on Wednesday (WOW) and Active Bug will be able to compete for this terrific prize. I’m sure they will jump at the chance to be the ‘Fat Controller’ for the day!”
KM Walk to School encourages families to be more active and walk, cycle or scooter to school instead of taking the car. The initiative aims to promote a healthier lifestyle and reduce traffic congestion and pollution on Kent's roads.
The Kent County Council and Medway Council led scheme is also supported by Ashford Borough Council, Canterbury City Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Thanet District Council, Three R’s Teacher Recruitment, Mini Babybel, Countrystyle Recycling, Chaucer Foundation, Southern Water, Orbit South, Golding Homes, Jelf Insurance Brokers, Leeds Castle, Independent Music Productions, Whitefriars shopping area and Specsavers.
Schools wanting to sign up for WOW or Active Bug should contact Louise Rogerson on lrogerson@thekmgroup.co.uk or call 0844 264 0291 (Lo-Call).
