HIKERS forfeited their Sunday lie-in to raise vital funds for Cancer Research.
The Rotary Club of The Weald of Kent organised the 21st annual North Downs Walk on Sunday leaving Harrietsham Village Hall, Church Road, Harrietsham.
Since the first North Downs Walk in 1985 thousands of walkers of all ages have helped raise £300,000 for local and national charities, with over £120,000 raised for Cancer Research UK.
Participants had the option to retain 50 per cent of the money they had raised to donate to their own nominated charity or organisation.
There was a choice a five or 10-mile route and all walkers were treated to a free Ploughmans, strawberries and jazz at the finish.
