Time is running out to book tables for the Maidstone heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
The fundraising event for teams of up to eight people takes place at Maidstone Leisure Centre on Friday, November 8, with doors opening at 6.20pm for a 7pm start.
And once again the county town’s branch of Barclays Bank will be pulling out the stops to maximise the returns for good causes, which this year include Kent Messenger charity of the year Royal British Legion Industries.
Besides running the fundraising bar stocked with drinks donated by brewer Shepherd Neame, the bank will match-fund the money generated by a charity raffle.
Claire Marsh from Barclays’ Maidstone branch said: “It is our pleasure to support the KM Big Quiz. It is an event we have now been involved in for many years.
“On the night, we will be running the bar and the raffle, both of which are vital elements of the fundraising.”
Quiz organiser Dominic Comins said: “Thanks as ever to Barclays, who continue to provide such generous support to this event helping to ensure the success of what is always a great night out.
“And I would urge anyone planning on booking a table to act fast before time runs out.
“The top four teams will go through to the county final, and there will be special prizes for the best teams representing the health and care sectors and schools and local government.
“And it’s hard to think of a worthier beneficiary than Royal British Legion Industries.”
Also set to benefit are KM Charity Team services supporting child literacy and road safety and one charity chosen by special prize draw.
The entry price is £65 per team, but there is a £10 discount when you book using the discount code KMNEWS19.
Besides Barclays and Shepherd Neame, the quiz is supported by Hornby and Office Angels.
