Bountiful bankers will equal the generosity of competitors at the Canterbury heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz next month.

And there are big prizes up for grabs in the raffle - classic toys and collectables from Hornby, plus one participant will be selected to answer an on-the-spot quiz question to win a pair of Eurostar tickets.
Booking for the quiz on Friday, April 20 has now opened – and teams can save £10 on their booking at www.kmbigquiz.co.uk by using the discount code KMNEWS18.
Receiving a share of the charity pot will be the Kentish Gazette’s charity of the year the Dementia Appeal of the East Kent Hospitals Charity, along with literacy and road safety services for schools.
A third beneficiary - who will win up to £1,000 - will be chosen via prize draw involving all charities who enter at least one team for the quiz.
Rebecca Hadley from Barclays said: “It is our pleasure to support the KM Big Quiz. It is an event we have now been involved in for many years.
“The charity bar is a vital element of fundraising on the night to support the community.”
The quiz is also supported by Kent brewer Shepherd Neame, who will provide all the drinks for the Spitfire charity bar, and Canterbury firm ADM Computing.
The winners will lift the Big Quiz Trophy and each member of the team will receive £150 worth of vouchers from DFDS Seaways. They will also secure a place in the grand final to take on the top teams from Big Quiz heats staged in Medway, Maidstone, and Ashford.
The quiz will run from 7pm to 10.30pm at the University of Kent’s sports centre with help from Office Angels. Teams can have up to eight people and the ticket price includes a ploughman’s meal supplied by the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends.
