A sell-out Medway Big Charity Quiz raised £8k for good causes.
The event, staged at the St George’s Hotel, Chatham, supported children’s road safety training and the Medway Messenger charity of the year, Abigail’s Footsteps.
Supernova were crowned event champions by the event’s main sponsor Qube Recruitment.
Bucks Fizz star Cheryl Baker joined Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team to host the event. Cheryl is Vice President of Abigail’s Footsteps.
The charity was set up in 2010 by Rochester couple Jo and David Ward following the death of their daughter Abigail who was stillborn at 41 weeks and Cheryl has supported them from the start.
Simon Dolby said: "Almost every team scored 50 per cent or higher, which is a very impressive achievement."
A large slice of the proceeds raised came thanks to Shepherd Neame, who donated beverages for the Spitfire Charity Bar, and thanks to support of volunteers from Barclays bank who helped on the night and swelled the pot with a £5k donation.
Mr Dolby said: "The good causes and volunteers staging and benefiting from the night are so grateful to the firms backing the event."
Organisations supporting the event included: Shepherd Neame, Barclays P&O Ferries, Qube Recruitment, Qube Construction Management and KM Cleaning Services.
2016 will see the 10th anniversary of the Medway Big Quiz – to find out how you can help support or sponsor the anniversary event contact Mr Dolby on 07989 164 752 or email sdolby@thekmgroup.co.uk
