Charities will get a double cash windfall thanks to Barclays which is supporting the Canterbury heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
The bank will match funds raised on the night from the raffle and charity bar guaranteeing big money for homelessness charity Catching Lives as well as road safety services for children.
Staff from Barclays will also be serving the drinks at the Spitfire bar which will be fully stocked by Faversham based brewery Shepherd Neame.
A highlight of the quiz calendar, the event is being hosted at the University of Kent’s Sports Centre on Friday, April 24. Organisers are calling for quiz teams to book now and make the night a record breaker for charity.
A table for eight, which includes glass of wine or soft drink on arrival, ploughman's meal and free entry into a draw to win a PO Ferries voucher, costs £65.
Sam Russell, Canterbury market leader for Barclays, said: “It is our pleasure to support the KM Big Quiz. It is an event we have now been involved in for many years.
“The charity bar is a vital element of fundraising on the night to support the local community. This will have an even greater impact as the money we raise will be matched through Barclays’ fantastic community investment programme that also encourages employees to get involved in charities and causes.
“It’s about giving back skills, time, and energy to support local communities."
The event will also support the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends, who are providing a ploughman’s supper for every quiz-goer.
One lucky participant will have the chance to answer an on the spot question to win £100 in cash.
Event organiser Dominic Comins, of the KM Charity Team, said: “Thanks to Barclays there’s no better excuse to sign up a team. Gather friends, family or work colleagues for a great night out and let’s really fill those charity coffers!
“There’ll be plenty of laughs and banter and some amazing prizes to be won.”
