Charities will get a cash windfall thanks to Barclays which is supporting the Medway heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
The bank will match funds raised on the night from the raffle and charity bar guaranteeing big money for the Medway Messenger charities of the year, Guide Dogs for the Blind and Gillingham Scouts, as well as children’s literacy projects in the county.
Staff from Barclays will also be serving the drinks at the charity bar whose stock has been donated by Kent-based brewery Shepherd Neame.
A highlight of the quiz calendar, the event is being hosted at the St Georges Hotel in Chatham on the March 10. Teams will enjoy a night of brainteasers with with the chance to win a pair of Eurostar tickets and an array of prizes in the raffle – all for under £7 a head with discount code MED17.
Organisers are calling for quiz teams to book now and join the charity fundraising push. Event organiser Dominic Comins, of the KM Charity Team, said: “Thanks to Barclays there’s no better excuse to sign up a team. Gather friends, family or work colleagues for a great night out and lets make it a record breaker for charity. There’ll be plenty of laughs and banter and some amazing prizes to be won.”
Julie Daniels, branch manager for Barclays continues: “It is our pleasure to support the KM Big Quiz. It is an event we have now been involved in for many years. The charity bar is a vital element of fundraising on the night to support the local community. This will have an even greater impact as the money we raise will be matched through Barclays’ fantastic community investment programme that also encourages employees to get involved in charities and causes. It’s about giving back skills, time, and energy to support local communities.”
Further organisations backing the event include Hornby, Independent Music Productions and Eurostar.
